Facade development and construction work have begun on a hotel proposed at 1717 North Wilcox Avenue in Hollywood. The project proposal includes the construction of a hotel, branded as Whisky Hotel.
Local investor Adolfo Suaya is the project developer. CK Architecture and Roschen Van Cleve Architects have teamed up to manage the design concepts and construction.
The Whisky Hotel project broke ground in 2020 and is being designed to offer 134 rooms within a seven-story structure. Retail space spanning an area of 3,580 square feet is planned on the ground floor. A basement parking garage with a capacity of 103 cars is also proposed on the site. Other amenities are inclusive of an open-air deck on the building’s rooftop.
Renderings reveal a contemporary exterior in bricks and vines. Last year, the developer announced that not only the hotel is branded as Whisky but the namesake drink will also be featured in tasting events and even in a fountain in the hotel lobby.
The estimated cost of construction is $35 million and the date of completion is 2022.
The property site is located north of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, neighboring a few more hotels, office buildings, and the under-construction Hollywood Arts Collective.
