An affordable housing project has made its debut at 386 Abacus in Great Park, Irvine. The project proposal includes the development of a housing complex offering around 140 housing units at affordable rates.
Related California, FivePoint, and Riverside Charitable Corporation are the project developers. KTGY designed the project.
The project site spans an area of 6.5 acres. Named Belaira, the 144-unit affordable housing complex is now open. The housing complex offers 144 homes built within eight three-story buildings. The apartments are designed as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom floor plans. The units range from 629 square feet to 1,168 square feet.
Other components of the property include a community center, a leasing center, a pool building, maintenance facilities, and laundry facilities.
Common onsite amenities include picnic areas, a dog run, and a large central green space.
The apartments available for households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area’s median income level, with rents ranging from $726 to $2,101 per month.
Landscape architecture firm Clark & Green, Portrait Construction, Inc., Mannigan Design, Inc., and LifeSTEPS are also part of the project team.
