A new affordable housing development is moving forward at 706 West 85th Street in South Los Angeles. The project is being developed by Logos Faith Development on land owned by St. Rest Friendship Church, with JZA Architecture responsible for the design.

The project, known as St. Rest, will include 62 apartments in a four-story building. The residential program includes one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans. Parking for 17 vehicles is planned within the development.

The apartments will be income-restricted across multiple affordability levels. Project approvals call for units reserved for households at the moderate-income, low-income, very low-income, and extremely low-income levels.

The rendering shows a contemporary low-rise building with a simple rectangular massing, white upper-floor façades, recessed window groupings, and a darker ground-floor base. The street-facing frontage includes landscaped planting, a covered parking entry, and a defined residential entrance marked with St. Rest signage.

The project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2027. A later phase planned by Logos Faith Development and St. Rest Friendship Church would expand the overall development program across two parcels, bringing the combined total to 138 homes along with new church space.
