A new residential community has been proposed for an empty lot located at 244 & 256 Michigan Avenue in Pasadena. The project proposal includes the development of townhomes in two buildings. Before being left as a mix of vacant land and surface parking, the development site was a component of the defunct San Gabriel Valley Railroad, which once linked Pasadena to Downtown Los Angeles.
Rose City Holdings, LLC, an entity affiliated with Pasadena-based Morillo Construction, is the project developer. LCRA is designing the project, along with landscape architecture firm TGP.
The project will bring a pair of two-to-three-story buildings containing 31 condominiums. A single-level parking space with a capacity of 67 parking stalls will be designed at the basement level.
Renderings reveal designs in Spanish Colonial Revival style with a facade in stucco with barrel tile roofing, wood shutters, and metal railings. The two buildings will have linear forms, flanking a central green space and amenity area in between.
The project site is located just south of the I-20 Freeway, between Michigan and Chester Avenues to the north of Walnut Street.
