A new residential project has been unveiled at its project site 235 North Hoover Street in the historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a new residential development in the form of a five-story building offering residential units, parking, and onsite amenities. The project rises on former Temple Community Hospital property.
Gemdale Corp is the project developer. Carrier Johnson + Culture designed the apartment complex.
Nearly one year after our last update, construction has almost reached completion for a new apartment complex featuring 221 residential units. Named Silva, the units are designed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments. The property will offer parking for 384 vehicles when completed.
In exchange for density bonus incentives permitting a larger building than would normally be allowed by zoning, Gemdale will be required to set aside 19 of the apartments as affordable housing at the very low-income level.
The near-finished product closely resembles the concept depicted in renderings. The site’s prior name, Pinnacle 360, alluded to its hilltop location with an amenity deck and cantilevered balconies facing northwest providing view in all directions. At the time the project, started construction, a Gemdale representative indicated that completion of the project is expected in late 2023.
