On December 9, 2020, the Director of Planning for the city of Los Angeles approved Skyview Sunset’s bid to implement a new apartment complex on 1501 North Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Located on Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue’s cross streets, this new development will also be within walking distance of a multitude of Metro Bus Lines. Skyview Sunset aims to create an affordable and attractive location that welcomes guests and homesteaders alike.
The building’s design includes 57,241 square feet spread across seven stories reaching a height of 97 feet from street level. The structure will consist of an underground parking lot, with additional parking and retail shops located on the first two levels. The third to seventh floors are reserved for residential living, comprised of 62 units. The residence sizes will range from studios to two-bedroom apartments. There are a few set aside for extremely low-income households as defined by the Los Angeles Housing and Community Investment Department.
Designed by Next Architecture, this new venture will include floral and artistic design reflective of its surrounding community on its lower levels and a patio area on the third floor, defining a social space both in and out of the living quarters. This project is set to begin in the third quarter of 2021 and is estimated to be complete by the first quarter of 2023.
