A new hotel and residential complex has been proposed at 1530 North Western Avenue in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of housing and hotel, replacing a surface parking lot and a duplex on the site.
Super 8 Motel at Western and Harold Way is the project applicant. Alajajian Marcoosi Architects is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The project will rise from an L-shaped parcel that houses a two-story duplex and a surface parking lot. Plans call for the construction of a four-story building featuring thirty-six guest rooms, ten apartments, and a semi-subterranean parking space with a capacity of forty-seven vehicles.
Named The Sapphire Hotel, the structure will be designed in a mix of cement plaster, aluminum, and trespa panels. Onsite amenities are inclusive of a rooftop deck, a gym, private balconies, and landscaped open spaces. Parking for the building will be accessible through a garage located off Harold Way, with pedestrians entering the hotel and residential spaces on Western Avenue.
The Sapphire Hotel is expected to be built over an 18-to-24-month period following the approval of entitlements. A groundbreaking date for the project has not been announced yet.
The property site is located at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Western Avenue.
