A new hotel project has been proposed for development at 1719 North Whitley Avenue in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a ten-story hotel building offering 165 rooms and onsite parking. Plans call for the demolition of an existing residential building built in the 1920s.
Fairborz Moshfegh of Whitley Apartments, LLC is listed as the property owner and applicant. Architect Daryoush Safai is designing the building.
The scope of work includes the demolition of the existing apartment complex and constriction of a new ten-story hotel building. The new mid-rise hotel building will offer 156 rooms, a small gift shop and a three-level, 122-car garage. The building height will rise to a height of 132 feet. The hotel will also have a rooftop deck.
The hotel will utilize new entitlements; the project is subject to AB 1218, which requires no net loss of housing even when a new development will not include housing. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet. The project site is located north of the Walk of Fame.
