A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 2023 Westwood Boulevard in West Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a new nine-story building offering affordable housing units. If approved, the project would replace a commercial building on the site.
SCAH-LA is the project developer. MVE + Partners is responsible for the designs.
Plans call for the construction of a new nine-story building featuring 124 apartments. The apartment complex will include 123 low-income units and one market-rate manager’s unit. Parking for 12 vehicles will be provided at street level.
The project will be executed using the new Executive Directive 1 application filed with the Department of City Planning. Plans call for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than allowed by zoning rules, as well as waivers from other standards.
MVE + Partners is designing 2023 Westwood, which is portrayed in renderings as a contemporary mid-rise structure clad in stucco.
The project site is located near a mid-block site north of Olympic Boulevard. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
