A new residential project has been given the green light for development at 7360 Foster Bridge Boulevard in Downey. The project proposal includes the redevelopment of a church built in the 1950s into a townhome community.
Seal Beach-based Olson Homes is the project developer.
Located near the Rio Hondo, the project site is a parcel spanning an area of 1.29 acres. Plans call for the construction of 33 townhome-style condominiums. The proposed development will consist of three-bedroom floor plans, ranging from approximately 1,200 to 1,800 square feet in size. A total of 71 parking spaces will also be developed on the property.
Project approvals include density bonus incentives permitting a larger development than allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, three of the new homes would be set aside for purchase by moderate-income households.
Renderings reveal Spanish-style facades for the townhomes, designed in stucco exteriors and tile rooftops. Construction of the Foster Bridge development will occur over a roughly 12-month period.
