A new affordable housing project celebrated groundbreaking at 405 North Westlake Avenue in Historic Filipinotown in Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a four-story building offering affordable housing for the unhoused.
Holos Communities and Restore Neighborhoods L.A. have teamed up as project developers. Lehrer Architects is responsible for the designs.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 4,500 square feet. The site broke ground last week and construction work is all set to kick off for a new supportive housing project. Named Loma Verde, the project will bring a four-story building with 18 apartments. No on-site parking has been proposed.
Renderings reveal a contemporary low-rise structure featuring vertical gardens.
The project is one of two ventures that was delayed by both the global pandemic and the inflation that followed. It is among several projects awarded Measure HHH challenge funds.
The project site is located north of Temple Street in Historic Filipinotown.
