A new affordable housing project has been inaugurated at 386 Abacus in Irvine. The project proposal included the construction of a new residential complex comprising eight three-story buildings offering housing at affordable rates.
Related California, FivePoint, and Riverside Charitable Corporation are the project developer. KTGY is responsible for the designs.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 6.5 acres. An inauguration ceremony was held last week; celebrating the opening of Belaira, an affordable housing complex. The residential complex consists of 144 homes designed within 8 three-story buildings. The apartments are designed as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom floor plans. The units range from 629 to 1,168 square feet in size.
The affordable housing complex also has space for picnic areas, a dog run, and a large central green space. Onsite amenities include a community center, a leasing center, a pool building, maintenance facilities, and laundry facilities.
The apartments are earmarked for households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area’s median income level, with rents ranging from $726 to $2,101 per month.
Landscape architecture firm Clark & Green, Portrait Construction, Inc., Mannigan Design, Inc., and LifeSTEPS are also part of the project team. The project site is located near Great Park.
