A new senior housing project has been proposed for development at 901-941 East Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach. A recent inauguration ceremony brings 67 apartments for seniors and veterans in a senior affordable housing community, named Heritage Gardens.
Mercy Housing California is the project developer. Studio One Eleven is responsible for the designs.
The scope of work included the development of a new four-story building featuring 67 apartments for very low-income adults aged 55 and up, as well as senior veterans. Residents are provided with on-site health and wellness services, as well as financial literacy, art, and cooking programs.
Renderings reveal that the theme blends Art Deco and Streamline Moderne architecture. On-site amenities include a podium-level courtyard, a community room, and a common laundry facility. The building is accentuated with artwork by Andrea James and Roshi.
The senior affordable housing made its debut at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.
