A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 21300 Devonshire Street in Chatsworth. The project proposal includes the development of a new four-story affordable housing project offering modular units.

LA Family Housing is the project developer.

Named The Cielo, the project will feature 100 apartments when completed. The project will be a four-story edifice containing 99 units of permanent supportive housing when completed. Plans also call for one manager’s unit, a small parking lot at street level, a 1,000-square-foot community room, a 5,000-square-foot courtyard, and offices for on-site supportive services.

All units will be designed as studios and be available for renters earning between 30 and 50 percent of the area median income level.

Funding for the project came through a $40-million Measure HHH, Abode Communities, and Mercy Housing California. The project is part of a larger proposal that will bring 398 residential units, and also includes apartment buildings in Harbor City and San Pedro.
