An application seeking the approval of a new supportive housing project at 21300 Devonshire Street in Chatsworth, Los Angeles has been submitted. The project proposal includes the demolition of a series of automobile repair buildings and the construction of a four-story apartment building with street-level parking.
The development team consists of Mercy Housing and LA Family Housing. Abode Communities is managing the design concepts and construction.
The project will showcase a four-story apartment complex offering 99 apartments for unhoused persons. The dwellings will be priced for households earning at or below 30 and 50 percent of the area’s median income. The building will have a manager’s unit and street-level parking space with a capacity of eleven vehicles.
Renderings reveal a contemporary structure with a C-shaped footprint wrapping a ground-level courtyard. The dwellings will be built with prefabricated modular units.
The project is among the first Measure HHH-funded supportive housing developments in Chatsworth. The Los Angeles City Council recently allocated $10.4 million in Measure HHH funding.
Construction is expected to begin by November 2022 and conclude in 2023.
