A new affordable housing project is taking shape at 6940-6958 Owensmouth Avenue in Canoga Park, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a five-story building offering residences. Plans call for the demolition of three single-family homes.

Meta Housing Corp is the project developer. Mogavero Architects is responsible for the design concepts.

Named The Bell Creek Apartments, the project proposes a five-story structure offering 80 residences as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments. A parking space with a capacity of 66 vehicles will be developed on the site.

The $50-million development– funded by Measure HHH, No Place Like Home, and the L.A. County affordable housing trust fund, among other sources– will cater to households earning between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income. Monthly rents are expected to range from $587 to $1,880 per month.

Completion of the Bell Creek project is expected in mid-2022. The property site is located at the intersection of Owensmouth Avenue and Hart Street.
