A new residential project is under construction at 1920 N Whitley Avenue in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a five-story apartment building. The building has replaced a triplex constructed in the 1920s.
Los Angeles-based B.D.O.G., Inc., is listed as the project applicant and developer. 1920 Whitley, LLC is the property owner. Warren Techentin Architecture (WTARCH) is designing the building. Other entities affiliated with the project include WJK Development.
Plans were approved by Los Angeles Planning officials in 2018 for 24 residential units in a five-story infill apartment complex. The units are offered as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. The apartment complex includes three extremely low-income affordable units. Parking for 28 vehicles will be provided on the site.
Renderings reveal a low-rise building featuring a contemporary look and an exterior of stucco and glass. In addition to housing, the apartment complex will include a rear yard and a rooftop deck. The open air corridor on the north facade is utilized to allow cross ventilation through each unit and natural lighting. The market availability has not been announced yet.
