A new affordable housing project is under construction at 1435 3rd Street in Westlake, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of an eight-story residential building offering units at affordable rates.
West Hollywood Community Housing Corp is the project developer. Architecture firm 64North is designing the building.
The project site is an vacant lot, and excavation work is under progress for the affordable housing complex. Named Third Thyme apartments, the project will bring an eight-story building featuring 104 residential units. The units are designed as one-bedroom apartments reserved for seniors. Out of the total, 47 units will be reserved for formerly unhoused residents and two units for on-site managers. The remaining apartments will be set aside for renters earning between 50 and 60 percent of the area’s median income level.
As previously covered, permits were filed earlier this year. Renderings reveal a podium-type building with a predominantly stucco exterior accented with wood slats. Onsite amenities include a community room, a fitness center, a laundry facility, an open-air courtyard, and a rear yard. Completion of Third Thyme is expected in Summer 2025.

Hi, I’m a senior who’s looking a place to live and I’ll be very graceful if you give me the opportunity to live in a descent place. God bless you.
