The newest chapter of the $1‑billion Jordan Downs remake has opened its doors. Kalmia Rose, a $54‑million collaboration between BRIDGE Housing and HACLA, replaces two vacant blocks at 9704 & 9808 South Kalmia Street in Watts, with 76 family‑sized apartments wrapped around a trio of landscaped courtyards. The mix includes one‑ through four‑bedroom homes; 61 are income‑restricted at 30‑60 percent AMI, 14 are market‑rate, and one is reserved for an on‑site manager.

Plans for the redevelopment of the Jordan Downs apartment complex at 9800 Grape Street in Watts, Los Angeles, are in full swing. A total of 189 apartments are fully framed, with exterior finishes starting to take shape at the property site. BRIDGE Housing Corp is the project developer. AC Martin is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
