“Wallace on Sunset” has opened in Hollywood. The property, located at 6240 Sunset Boulevard, was developed by Essex Property Trust. It is named after the famous performer Beryl Wallace, who, in the 1930s, used to perform at the historic Earl Carroll theater next door.
The building is seven stories high. It is approximately 90 feet tall, 261 feet long, and 209 feet wide, with 193,959 square feet. The inside contains 200 apartments, including studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, above 4,700 square feet of retail. 7,134 square feet of landscaping is included across the building complex.
Amenities include a sky deck, fireside lounge, and bar with views of the Hollywood Hills, a two-story fitness center overlooking Sunset Boulevard, a pool and spa, a clubhouse, a dog washroom, and a mini dog park. Some of the parking is off-site. There are 65 compacts, eight disabled, and 241 standard parking spaces, as well as 20 short-term bicycle parking spaces.
TCA Architects designed the building to meet LEED Gold specifications. The facade includes masses broken up with undulations and pops of color to blend the structure with the varying surroundings. The permit valuation was $40 million. Applications for tenants are currently being accepted.
