Vertical construction is wrapping up for a new housing complex at 720 West Washington Boulevard in University Park, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a residential building to bring dwelling units for low-income households.
WPH Holdings LLC is developing the project. JAG Architects is managing the design concepts and construction.
Named Washington View Apartments, the residential complex will feature 122 apartments. The building facade will rise to three stories. The complex will offer apartments as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. The apartments will be reserved for households earning at or below 30, 50, and 60 percent of the area’s median income.
The cost of construction is estimated at $48.8 million. The project is anticipated to reach completion in December 2021.
The property site is located toward the south of the historic Pierce Brothers Mortuary. The Pierce Brothers Mortuary, built in the 1920s, is a Spanish Colonial Revival landmark billed as the first full-service funeral home in Los Angeles.
