Construction plans for the proposed office tower have started to move forward at 655 Mesquit Street in Arts District, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a fourteen-story office building with ground-floor retail space. The new construction will replace a parking lot on the site.

Continuum Partners and Platinum Equity are the project developers. EYRC Architects is responsible for the design concepts and construction.

The project proposes to bring a 14-story building featuring nearly 185,000 square feet of offices. Retail space spanning an area of 4,325 square feet will be designed on the ground floor. The tower will be accompanied by 397 parking spaces. The new garage, consisting of two subterranean levels and five above-grade levels, will connect to the underground garage of the adjoining Produce LA building.

The proposed building facade will rise to a height of 195 feet, eclipsing its next-door neighbor. Renderings show the building with an exterior of corrugated metal, concrete, and glass and a rooftop amenity deck. At street level, plans call for an L-shaped pedestrian paseo to cut through the property, connecting Mesquit and Jesse Street.

Construction of the tower is expected to occur over a roughly two-year period, with completion set to occur as early as 2025. The property is located south of the new Sixth Street Viaduct and will join more than a half-dozen large office projects slated for the Arts District.
