A new residential project is under construction at 6550 Normandie Avenue in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood in Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a five-story apartment building. The project broke ground last year.

Los Angeles-based Haroni Investments is the project developer. John Kaliski Architects is responsible for the design concepts.

The project will bring a new multifamily residential complex, bringing 93 residential units into a five-story building. The residences will be developed as a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. At-grade parking for 47 vehicles will be designed on the site.

Haroni received approvals using Transit Oriented Communities incentives to allow for a larger building than otherwise permitted by zoning rules. In exchange, eight of the new apartments will be set aside as affordable housing at the extremely low-income level.

Renderings reveal a design featuring terrace decks on the third and fourth floors along with a landscaped central courtyard. A manager’s unit will be provided on the ground floor.

The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet. The project site is located on the east side or Normandie Avenue between 65th Place and 66th Street.
