A new residential development is taking form and shape at 11010 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a supportive housing project, replacing a parking lot on the site.

Non-profit service provider Weingart Center is the project developer. Perkins & Will is designing the project.

One year after breaking ground, modular units are now in place for a new permanent supportive housing development. The project, named 11010 SMB for its address, replaced an LADOT parking lot with a new five-story building that will feature 51 apartments. Out of the total, 50 units will be reserved for unhoused seniors and veterans. Rents are to be set at levels considered affordable to a household earning up to 50 percent of the area’s median income.

Weingart and its development partner Valued Housing secured funding for the project through a variety of state and local sources, including Measure HHH and tax-exempt bonds. The total budget estimated budget for 11010 SMB is $27.5 million, which translates to a per-unit cost of just over $530,000.
