A new apartment complex is under construction at 200 North Vermont Avenue in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a six-story mixed-use building offering residential and retail spaces.
Hankey Group and Jamison Services, Inc are the project developers. MVE + Partners is responsible for the designs.
The project will bring a six-story mixed-use building featuring 490 residential units offered as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. The building will also offer 35,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Plans also call for a two-level semi-subterranean parking garage.
Approved plans rely on Transit Oriented Communities incentives to permit a larger structure than allowed. In exchange, 49 of the apartments are to be reserved as extremely low-income affordable housing for a period of 55 years at completion.
Renderings reveal a contemporary low-rise structure resonating the styles of the neighboring developments. The complex will showcase multiple landscaped decks and courtyards, as well as amenities such as a swimming pool, a half basketball court, a game room, a screening room, and co-working space.
The podium-style building is taking shape just south of Vermont/Beverly Station. The estimated completion date and market availability has not been announced yet.
