A new student housing project is under construction at 1712 West Jefferson Boulevard in Exposition Park, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of four buildings with private bedrooms and bathrooms. A small commercial building, used as a daycare, was demolished on the site.
Los Angeles-based development and management firm Tripalink is the property owner. JZA Architecture is responsible for the designs.
The project calls for the construction of four new buildings containing a total of seven apartments, leaving space for three future accessory dwelling units. The contemporary four-story structures will feature en-suite bathrooms for each bedroom to provide privacy for student groups. A communal rear yard allows for gathering with landscaping, seating and a BBQ area.
The four-story volumes are subdivided by white plaster volumes with punched openings and vertical fiber-cement plank siding and a decorative louver system.
The housing will be located a short walk from Western Avenue. The estimated project completion date has not been announced yet.
