A new affordable housing project is under construction at 1999 West 3rd Street in Westlake, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a seven-story building offering space for residential units.

Wakeland Housing & Development Corporation and Jonathan Rose Companies are listed as the project developers. Brooks + Scarpa is responsible for the designs. Tina Chee Landscape Studio is responsible for the landscape.

The scope of work includes the construction of a seven-story building offering 137 residential units, yielding a total built-up area spanning 100,000 square feet. The units will be designed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans. The units will be reserved for households earning between 30-80 percent of the area’s median income.

The project also proposes 10,000 square feet of onsite residential amenities like fitness rooms, lounges, and workspaces. Plans also call for a breezeway that would connect to the Miramar Towers and the existing housing complex on the site.

The project has an anticipated inauguration day set as January 2025. The project site is located east of Alvarado Street.
