A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 920 South La Brea Avenue in Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a new nine-story building offering affordable housing options to the locals. The project will replace a shuttered car rental business on the site.
SCAH-LA is listed as the project developer. MVE + Partners is responsible for the designs.
The scope of work includes constructing a nine-story building on a single parcel. The apartment complex will bring 79 affordable housing units. No on-site parking has been proposed. All apartments will be income-restricted, except for a one manager’s unit.
The project is eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than would otherwise be allowed by zoning rules.
Renderings reveal a thin building frame with an exterior designed in painted stucco. The project will come to fruition utilizing the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1. A project application was submitted to the City of Los Angeles, earlier this week.
The project site is located two blocks south of Wilshire/La Brea Station.
