A new large-scale apartment complex is under construction taking shape and form at 600 Broadway in Long Beach. The project proposal includes the construction of a new residential complex featuring four building rising seven to eight stories in height and featuring 600 units. The project replaced a busy surface parking lot.
Trammell Crow Residential (TCR) and R&V Management are the project developers. Studio One Eleven is responsible for the designs.
Named Alexan West End, the project’s first two phases of the development commenced work earlier this year. The scope of work includes the development of a large multifamily residential development featuring 600 apartment. The units will be designed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom floor plans, spread out within four building. The building will rise to a floors ranging between seven to eight stories.
The project also required breaking up the site with new streets and pedestrian paths. In addition to housing, plans also propose onsite amenities including a fitness center, a swimming pool and spa, and a rooftop deck.
The project has been given approval for the third phase which would increase the total site to 750 residential units. The final component of the complex would be a high-rise building at the western edge of the property.
TCR bought the project site for $30 million in 2022. The project site sits toward the north of the World Trade Center in Downtown Long Beach.
