A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 3401 Cerritos Avenue in Long Beach. The project proposal includes the development of a new housing community offering dwelling units at affordable rates.

West Hollywood Community Housing is the project developer. Urban Architecture Lab is responsible for the designs.

The scope of work includes the construction of a two-story, three-story, and five-story buildings offering a combined total of 73 apartments in a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom floor plans. Plans also call for 103 parking spaces within two subterranean levels.

All apartments would be deed-restricted affordable units, except for a legally-required manager’s unit. However, the exact affordability level is not specified.

The property will also feature a courtyard, a community room, laundry facilities, and a fitness room.

The property site is located north of the 405 Freeway in Long Beach. Construction is expected be completed over a roughly 16-month period, with start date in the third quarter of 2025.
