A new residential project is under construction taking shape and form at 400 East Adams Boulevard in the Historic South-Central neighborhood of Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of 84 prefabricated modular units.
Markwood is the project developer. Aero Collective is responsible for the designs, while AO serves as the architect on record.
The scope of work includes the development of a new apartment building rising four stories high, offering 84 units. The project will bring 84 prefabricated units designed as a mix of studios and one-bedroom floor plans. Parking will be offered at the ground floor for 42 vehicles.
Project entitlements include Transit Oriented Communities incentives, which permit a larger structure than allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, eight of the new apartments are to be set aside as affordable housing at the extremely low-income level. Markwood previously announced that rents in the remaining units would be set as prices catering to households earning between 120 and 150 percent of the area median income level.
The contemporary facade will be capped by a rooftop amenity deck.
At the time of project announcement, construction was expected to take one year to reach completion. Installation of the modular units occurred over a roughly five-day period.
