A new small-scale residential project has been proposed for development at 2941 West 8th Street in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a new seven-story apartment building offering 55 units. The multifamily residential project requires the demolition of five existing homes on the site.
Westmoreland Los Angeles, LLC is listed as the project applicant. JPark Architects is responsible for the deigns.
The scope of work includes the development of a new seven-story building offering 55 residential units. After demolition, the project site will be prepped for bringing residential units as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans. A semi-subterranean parking garage for 21 vehicles will also be developed within the building.
Requested entitlements include Transit Oriented Communities incentives to permit a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, six of the apartments would be set aside for rent by very low-income households.
Renderings reveal a contemporary podium-type building. The residential complex will also offer a rooftop amenity deck.
The project will rise just east of Vermont Avenue on a mid-block site. A project application was recently submitted to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
