A new residential property may come to a project developed at 1901 Main Street in Irvine. The project proposal includes the reuse and conversion of an eight-story office building into a housing complex. The project proposes to utilize an eight-story office building as a housing complex that features 76 apartments.
J+R Group, LLC is the property owner.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 4.8 acres. The owner has submitted plans to convert a portion of the office building to be used as a housing complex. The office building spans an area of 173,000 square feet. Plans call for converting multiple floors of the tower into 76 dwellings while building a ground-up apartment complex on the property next door.
It is reported that J+R Group acquired the site in 2016 for $66 million. The company has renovated the property since its purchase. The office building is located at the corner of MacArthur and Main Street and is near John Wayne Airport
A project application has been submitted for review and approval. The estimated construction timeline remains unannounced.
