A new affordable housing complex has been proposed for development at 2323 West James M. Wood Boulevard in Westlake. The project proposal includes the development of a new seven-story building offering affordable housing options to locals. If approved, the project will replace two existing residences on the site.
Compound Development is the project developer. Commun is responsible for the designs.
The scope of work includes the development of a new seven-story building offering 150 units. The units will be designed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and four-bedroom floor plans. No on-site parking has been proposed at of now.
The project will utilize the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1. Except for one manager’s unit, all apartments will be reserved for low-income and moderate-income households, making the project eligible for density bonus incentives granting additional concessions from zoning rules.
Renderings reveal a podium-type building clad in stucco and corrugated metal panels. A central courtyard and a podium-level amenity deck will also be designed within the building.
The project site is located two blocks south of MacArthur Park on a corner lot. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
