A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 2227 West Scott Avenue in Echo Park, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a new six-story affordable housing complex offering 39 units. If approved, the project would replace an early 20th century residence on the site.

Building Bloch Capital is the project developer. Aero Collective is responsible for the designs.

The scope of work includes the construction of a six-story building featuring 39 affordable housing units. The units will be designed as studios and one-bedroom floor plans. No on-site parking has been proposed.

Except for one market-rate manager’s unit, all apartments will be set aside as low-income housing options. As a 100 percent affordable development, the project would be eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules.

A new application has been submitted to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning, pending review and approval. The project will utilize The ED1.
