Design refinements continue to define the look and feel of the Hotel Indigo rising at 515 North Central Avenue in Downtown Glendale, where the project’s evolving architecture illustrates the city’s gradual shift toward a denser, design-driven urban core. The latest design adjustments expand the building’s interior layout while maintaining its established height and massing, resulting in a more efficient plan and a stronger street presence.

The building is organized around a U-shaped footprint that frames a landscaped courtyard open to Central Avenue. The exterior blends red-brick masonry, dark metal framing, and broad glass planes, producing a layered façade that references industrial-era architecture while meeting modern hospitality standards. Vertical window bays and recessed balconies introduce rhythm and depth, while the glass-clad corner volume anchors the main entry and lobby.

At the street level, transparent storefront glazing reveals active lobby and dining spaces, extending visual connectivity between interior and exterior. The courtyard acts as an informal plaza, softening the transition from sidewalk to hotel entrance. Upper floors are distinguished by metal pergolas and lighter-toned panels that reduce bulk and integrate outdoor terraces.
The materials used are brick, steel, and neutral masonry that tie the project to Glendale’s established urban palette while projecting a new architectural presence. Originally approved in 2020, the seven-story hotel introduces a contemporary hospitality model rooted in material richness and pedestrian activity.
Once complete, Hotel Indigo will offer 174 guest rooms with amenities including a rooftop pool deck, meeting areas, fitness facilities, and an underground garage.
