Plans have been approved for a residential redevelopment at 11459 Imperial Highway in Norwalk, where a former bowling alley site is slated to be replaced with a large townhome project. The Norwalk Planning Commission has signed off on the proposal, clearing the way for construction on the 4.5-acre property currently occupied by Keystone Lanes.
The project, proposed by Meritage Homes, calls for the construction of 93 residential units arranged in a series of three-story buildings. Approved plans show a mix of two- and three-bedroom townhomes, with unit sizes ranging from approximately 1,216 square feet to just over 2,000 square feet. Each residence is designed with an attached ground-level garage.

Architectural plans prepared by Kevin L. Crook Architect depict a site layout organized around internal private drives and pedestrian pathways. The development includes multiple residential building types, including a group of live/work units positioned along Imperial Highway, with more traditional townhome buildings located deeper within the site. Exterior elevations show a consistent residential façade treatment across the project.
The site plan incorporates shared open space areas distributed throughout the development, including landscaped pedestrian corridors and a central community area. Vehicular access is provided internally, with no direct residential driveway connections to Gettysburg Drive, according to submitted plans.
Located along Imperial Highway near the eastern edge of Norwalk, the project replaces a long-standing commercial use with new housing and represents a significant change in land use for the property. With planning approvals now in place, the development is positioned to move forward subject to final permitting and construction scheduling.
