Construction is progressing at 1257 North Sweetzer Avenue, where a new residential building is rising on a narrow parcel just south of Fountain Avenue in West Hollywood. The project is being developed as a small-scale infill apartment building designed to introduce additional housing while responding to the constraints of a tight urban lot.
The project was designed by Tighe Architecture and is under construction for the property owner Sweetzer Group, LLC.

Plans call for a four-story structure containing 14 residential units, consisting of 12 flats and two townhomes. The building is supported by a subterranean parking garage providing space for 20 vehicles, allowing the residential floors above to be organized without visible parking at street level.
Rather than presenting a single continuous mass, the building is arranged as two primary volumes separated by a central open space. This courtyard-based configuration reduces the apparent bulk of the structure while creating a shared interior area for residents. The separation between volumes also allows for light and air to penetrate deeper into the site, an approach well suited to small infill parcels with limited frontage.
Renderings show the two volumes unified by a consistent architectural language, with stacked balconies and a vertically oriented facade element defining the street-facing elevation. The composition emphasizes vertical layering and repetition, while setbacks and recesses introduce variation across the four residential levels without relying on changes in height.
City records indicate that two of the 14 homes will be designated as deed-restricted affordable units. When completed, the development will add a compact, courtyard-oriented residential building to a predominantly low-rise section of West Hollywood.
