Six-Building Film Production Campus Proposed at 3701 West Stocker Street in Baldwin Hills

Efforts to expand film and television production capacity in Los Angeles continue to push into new districts, with a large studio-oriented campus proposed for a site near the Crenshaw corridor in Baldwin Hills. The project, titled Stocker Street Creative, is planned for 3701 West Stocker Street on a property situated just west of Crenshaw Boulevard. The development would transform the site into a multi-building production complex designed to accommodate sound stages, production offices, and supporting commercial uses.

The campus is being developed by 4SBay Partners, LLC, with JGM responsible for architectural design.

Plans call for six new buildings arranged around landscaped open space and internal service areas intended to support studio operations. The campus layout centers on a landscaped plaza and pedestrian pathways linking the individual structures while separating production activities from public areas.

In total, the proposal outlines 256,768 square feet of floor area across production space, offices, and restaurant uses. The project would also incorporate 344 vehicle parking spaces along with a community room and additional shared facilities intended to serve tenants and visitors. Plans indicate that the tallest buildings within the complex could rise to approximately 110 feet, forming a mid-rise studio campus positioned along the Stocker Street frontage.

Environmental review documents prepared for the development indicate that construction could require roughly 35 months, with an earlier study examining a schedule beginning in mid-2026 and extending through 2029.

The proposed campus forms part of a broader wave of development activity in Baldwin Hills. Nearby projects tied to the redevelopment of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza property and the former Marlton Square site are expected to introduce additional residential and commercial space to the surrounding neighborhood.
