A residential and hotel redevelopment has been approved for the Hotel Saddleback property at 12500 Firestone Boulevard in Norwalk. The 7.7-acre site is planned with 120 single-family homes and townhomes across approximately 5.9 acres, while a separate 1.8-acre portion of the property is reserved for a future four-story hotel containing 130 guest rooms.
The housing component is being developed by Brandywine Homes and would include two- and three-story buildings with three- and four-bedroom floor plans. Angeleno Associates is designing the residential portion of the project. The attached site plan places the housing across the western and central portions of the property, with buildings arranged around internal circulation areas between Firestone Boulevard and Front Street.
The remaining hotel parcel is shown at the opposite end of the site near the intersections of Firestone Boulevard, Bloomfield Avenue, and Rosecrans Avenue. Vaidehi Inc. is identified as the hotel developer, with Flores Design Group attached to its design. The current program calls for 130 rooms across four stories, although additional details may change depending on the eventual hotel operator and market conditions.
More than 400 vehicle parking spaces are planned across the overall development. The project would replace Hotel Saddleback, an existing 230-room hotel that also contains restaurant and banquet facilities. The approved redevelopment therefore divides the property between a substantially larger residential component and a smaller parcel retained for continued hotel use.
The proposal was adopted through an amendment to the Heart of Norwalk Specific Plan. That planning framework was established in 2021 to guide redevelopment and new housing in the surrounding area. A construction timeline for the residential and hotel components has not been announced.
