Plans to develop new supportive housing in Los Angeles have advanced, sanctioning five new housing projects in Koreatown, Mid-City, San Pedro, and Wilmington.

The new development will be a five-story building featuring 43 one and two-bedroom apartments. 1,800 square feet of space will be utilized for on-site amenities and parking for eight vehicles. The total estimated budget for Solaris Apartments is $29.3 million.
The Wilmington Apartments
The proposed project will be developed on a vacant site located at 1424 North Deepwater Avenue. It consists of a three-story building featuring 56 apartments. On-site amenities and parking for 19 vehicles will be designed. D33 Design & Planning is managing the design concepts and construction.
The total estimated budget for these apartments is $31 million, funded partly through Measure HHH and Los Angeles County sources.
The Mid-City Apartments
Western Community Housing and Meta Housing Corp are the project developers. Y&M Architects is managing the design concepts and construction. The property site is at 4600 and 4601 Washington Boulevard.
Named Washington Arts Collective, the supportive housing project will bring two four-story buildings featuring 56 apartments. Twenty apartments will be set aside for formerly homeless families and individuals. Thirty-five apartments will be reserved for low-income households. One manager’s unit will also be set aside.
The San Pedro Apartments
Abode Communities is the project developer.
The site is located at 311-345 North Beacon Street. The project proposal includes the demolition of a pair of commercial buildings and the construction of a four-story structure. The new development will bring 90 studio apartments with on-site supportive services and a ten-car parking garage. The apartments will showcase prefabricated modular units.
The estimated budget for the project is $39 million. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2022 and conclude in April 2023.
Located near Wilmington at 1355 Avalon Boulevard, another supportive housing development is proposed offering 54 residential units. Brilliant Corners is the project developer. The housing complex is designed by KFA Architects. The project involves converting a 1950s Safeway supermarket into residences along with adding a four-story edifice on the adjacent site.
