A new affordable residential project is nearing completion at its site at 619 Westlake Avenue in Westlake, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a five-story residential building offering dwelling units at affordable rates. The project site is located behind the Westlake Theatre.
Meta Housing Corporation is the project developer. The Architects Collective is responsible for the designs.
The affordable housing complex is wrapping up construction for a five-story building, offering 78 residential units, designed as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom floor plans. The apartments are reserved for households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area’s median income level, with half set aside for formerly unhoused residents. Floor plans range from 590 square feet to 1,1139 square feet in size, with rents starting at $1,302 per month and ranging as high as $1,799 per month.
The complex provides two levels of parking while also accommodating ample open space. Lush streetscape gracefully slips under the building into a spacious courtyard that visually opens to the neighborhood. The project site is located east of MacArthur Park.
