Barclay Hotel Rededicated As SRO Housing In Downtown Los Angeles

Barclay Hotel, one of the oldest hotels in Los Angeles, is undergoing an adaptive revamp at 103 West 4th Street in Downtown, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the renovation of the existing hotel building to offer residential units reserved at affordable rates. Healthy Housing Foundation, a subsidiary of AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is the new owner, planning to retain the building as low-income housing. The Barclay, designed by Morgan and Walls, was completed in 1897.

It will be almost entirely low-income housing, set aside for the chronic homeless, veterans, formally homeless, and individuals at the 60% or below AMI level. The project has been titled “Ingraham Apartments.”
