Stories are rising at 1230 West Ingraham Street, in Westlake. The development is by SRO Housing. It will be almost entirely low-income housing, set aside for the chronic homeless, veterans, formally homeless, and individuals at the 60% or below AMI level. The project has been titled “Ingraham Apartments.”

The building will be seven stories tall, with 78,500 square feet of floor. The size will be 96 feet tall, 184 feet long, and 82 feet wide. 121 units will be inside, 120 of which will be low income. The apartments will all be studios, approximately 400square feet each, except for the manager’s unit, which will be a one-bedroom. They will all have private kitchens and bathrooms.

On-site amenities will include a community kitchen, lounge, computer area, laundry room, security office, and an on-site supportive services office. There will be 1 level of subterranean parking with 9 compact, 2 disabled, and 29 standard parking spaces. 85 long-term and 9 short-term bicycle parking spaces will be provided.

KFA Architecture is behind the design. Plans include 3,300 square feet of landscape, with both indoor and outdoor recreation and lounge spaces. The permit valuation, at the time of filing, was $12.6 million. The site was previously a surface parking lot. Construction is expected to wrap up in the Summer of 2022.

  1. We need more SRO HOUSING in this area with rent below $900.

  2. I believe there is some good but there is no way all the money went to quality products for this building. A lot of corners were cut. It’s a shame that no one is following up on every detail that should have been looked over.
