Canadian owner Morguard Corporation has asked the City to convert two underused floors of the 22‑story Lumina Hollywood building at 5929 Sunset Boulevard into new housing. The application, filed July 1 with the Planning Department would swap empty offices and a slice of parking on levels 3 and 4 for 36 additional apartments—two set aside for very‑low‑income households.
Construction is nearly complete for a new mixed-use development at 2455 South Overland Avenue in the Rancho Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The site is located at the southeast corner of Overland Avenue and Ayres Avenue, directly south of Pico Boulevard and the former Westside Pavilion. The project, named Overland & Ayres, is being developed by GPI Companies. The design is led by MVE + Partners, with interiors by Cecconi Simone. The building replaces a former multi-level parking garage that once served the Westside Pavilion shopping mall.
A new seven-story complex offering residential and commercial uses is nearing completion at 549 South Harvard Boulevard in Koreatown, Los Angeles.
