A large-scale residential development has been proposed at 1723 Cloverfield Boulevard, just steps from Santa Monica’s 26th Street/Bergamot Station. The initiative would replace an existing office building and surface parking lot with an eight-story structure housing 330 homes, along with supporting amenities and a connective pedestrian route. Orr Partners is the project developer. Tighe Architecture is responsible for the designs.

The six-story development, backed by Community Corp. of Santa Monica, is set to deliver 71 income-restricted apartments just south of Colorado Avenue. Community Corp., a long-standing nonprofit builder of affordable housing, is spearheading the project. Architecture is being led by Kevin Tsai Architecture, which has prepared updated plans for the nearly 67,000-square-foot building.

Cypress Equity Investments is listed as the project developer, with Los Angeles-based Tighe Architecture now leading design efforts.
