Construction has begun for a large multifamily residential development just north of a Metro L Line station in Duarte. MBK, a subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co., announced its purchase of the Duarte development site just over one year ago.
Architects Orange is managing the design concept and construction.
The property site is a 4.3-acre parcel. Named Esperanza at Duarte Station, the five-story complex will offer 344 residential units offered as a mix of studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and three-bedrooms. On-site amenities are inclusive of a club room, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and five courtyards at the ground level.
The low-rise contemporary development features wood-frame buildings with parking structures.
The developers intend to cater to a diverse range of renters, from students and families to professionals and seniors. The estimated date of project completion is mid-2023. The property is situated at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Business Center Drive.
