The “Kenmore,” at 966 South Kenmore Avenue, in Koreatown, has opened. The site was developed by Jameson Services. It is now student housing, by Tripalink, which has several other housing sites throughout Los Angeles.
The building is six stories high. It is 70 feet tall, 125 feet long, and 90 feet wide, with 38,700 square feet of floor. Inside there are 52 residential units, five of which are low-income housing. The site has 55 co-living beds in total. The structure has led to a 70 percent density increase.
There is one level of basement. Inside, there is room for 13 compact, 1 disabled, and 31 standard parking spaces. Bicycle parking includes 42 long-term and 4 short-term bicycle spaces. Several bus stops are within a few blocks of the location.
The design is by Corbel Architects. It features a rooftop deck as well as private balconies. The rectangular patterned, multi-colored, exterior blends with the established Koreatown aesthetic. The initial permit valuation for the project was $6.9 million.
