New apartments are coming to Echo Park. They will be located along a busy street, at 1750 North Glendale Boulevard. Aragon Properties Corporation is the developer. The exterior of the site is nearly finished.

The building is 68 feet tall, 188 feet long, and 163 feet wide. It is five stories high, with 61,000 square feet of floor area. The upper floors will contain 62 apartment units. A unique feature is that there will be eight live/work units on the lower floor. Additionally, the site will have eight low-income housing units.

Below grade, there will be two levels of basement. Inside, there will be space for ten compact, two disabled, and 74 standard parking stalls. The site will provide 74 long-term bicycle parking spaces, as well. Additional transportation is provided by a bus stop, about a block away.

Urban Architecture Lab is designing the project. Renderings depict a community room and open air space at the center of the development and a rooftop deck and lounge area. The permit valuation, at the time of filing, was $14.9 million. The project was expected to be complete in 2019 but appears to be taking longer.
