“Hana,” Nearly Complete at 801 South Berendo Street in Koreatown, Los Angeles

“Hana,” is nearly complete at 801 South Berendo Street, in Koreatown. The project is one of many by Jamison Services in the area. It was projected to finish in February of this year, although final touches appear to be lingering. The site will expand both retail and housing in the area.

The building is 89 feet tall, 178 feet long, and 118 feet wide. It is seven stories tall, with two levels of basement. There is a total of 111,500 square feet of floor. 98 apartments are on the upper floors, averaging 98 square feet each. The ground floor has retail space.

Amenities include a lobby, lounge area with 70” TV, community room with kitchen and dining areas, a fitness center, and mail area with parcel lockers. Outside there is a pool and deck with cabanas and barbecue stations. There are 35 compact, four disabled, and 112 standard parking spaces, and 104 long-term and 12 short-term bicycle parking spaces.

Daryoush Safai is the architect behind the design, which has a podium shape with a central courtyard enclave. The building features a large leaf artwork above the courtyard, unlike the earlier renderings. The permit valuation, at the time of filing, was $20.5 million.
